Smoking causes a rise in blood pressure besides other ailments. High blood pressure besides many other diseases are caused by smoking. Quitting smoking is possible with the help of various options. But the best way out is using an option which is effective as well as without any side effects. It is not that simply smoking is the cause of high blood pressure. The cigarettes contain certain chemicals which are responsible for the constriction of blood vessels. The heart has to pump with greater force to circulate blood to all the tissues of the body when the blood vessels are narrowed. This will result in a rise in blood pressure, besides an increase in the heart rate. The oxygen in your system will get replaced by the chemicals which are in the cigarette when you are smoking it and inhaling nicotine. This means that there is less oxygen circulating in the body. The adrenaline gland secretes the hormone adrenaline due to this nicotine, resulting in the constriction or narrowing of the blood vessels.
